Going to old Minto,the place I was born and raised.lots of memories in the old village of old Minto. I always enjoy going back there and remembering where I ran through the woods chasing down bad guys,swimming at the sandbar in those still hot June and July days,trekking out to long lake to paddle around or swim with the beavers and ducks and in the month of October after freeze up,go skating into the late afternoon and sometimes later with big campfire to warm up by or take a burning torch and skating around and around. Remembering hunting rabbits after fresh new snow behind the school on north fork trail and late September hunting grouse with our home made sling shots pretty much having goofy kids normal day in the village or cutting a piece off the fall catch of fat moose meat for roasting by the fire, some dried fish from summer fish camp, pilot bread or left over pancakes, our homemade teapot made of 1/2 pound hills brothers coffee can ,sugar,salt,matches and we are good to go for a young boys picnic. Them were memories that flood my mind. Kids had it made back then...
