Visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199, Raj Ghat. Drive past Jama Masjid, Red Fort & India Gate (War Memorial Arch). Also drive past President’s House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre. Overnight in Delhi. Day 02 : Delhi-Jaipur (265 kms, 05hrs) Morning drive to Jaipur. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon time free to explore the vibrant market of Jaipur which is very famous for handicrafts and local artwork. Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan was given a colour coat of pink a century ago in honour of a visiting Prince and ever since, it has retained this colour. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the notable astronomer, this city is 260 years old. Overnight Jaipur. Day 03 : Jaipur Morning visit Amber Fort. Amber Fort was the ancient capital of the State. Visit the Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors. Afternoon continue with Jaipur sightseeing, visit Maharaja’s City Palace & the Observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal & through the pink rose residential & business areas. Overnight Jaipur. Day 04 : Jaipur-Agra (256 kms, 04/5hrs) Drive to Agra visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. Fatehpur Sikri is 40 kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces. Arrive agra. Check in to hotel, evening at leisure. Overnight Agra. Day 05 : Agra-Delhi (210 kms, 05hrs) Morning visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Agra Fort containing the Pearl Mosque, the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah built by Empress Noorjehan in memory of her father. Afternoon drive to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and check in to hotel for overnight stay. Day 06 : Delhi-Amritsar (500 kms, 06.5hrs) Early morning proceed to Delhi railway station to catch train to Amritsar. Amritsar- The 400 years old city , founded by the fourth guru of the Sikhs , Guru Ramdas , has been the seat of the Sikh religion and culture from its very inception. It is renowned for the famous Golden Temple. Amritsar, literally – ‘Pool of Nectar’, derives its name from the holy pond around the temple. The land for the pool was gifted by the Moghul Emperor Akbar. Arrive Amritsar railway station & transfer to the hotel. Check in hotel. Evening visit to Indo-Pak Wagha Border to watch Flag Retreat Ceremony-Return to hotel. Overnight stay. ( By Train) Day 07 : Departure After breakfast, check out & start your city tour with the blessings of Golden Temple-the most important sikh shrine which is also called Mecca for the Sikhs is a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs. Then visit Jallianwala Bagh- where, on April 13, 1919, British soldiers opened fire on an unarmed forbidden gathering, killing hundreds of civilians. Later proceed to the airport/railway station for your onward destination.
