Goldsmith House Saved from Demolition! A group of NW Portland residents including Rick Michaelson (Board member of the Bosco-Milligan Foundation/Architectural Heritage Center) and Karen Karlsson have reached an agreement to purchase the historic but unprotected Goldsmith House and the rest of the property at NW 24th and Quimby from developer Marty Kehoe. The closing is set for early June, and restoration of the house will begin then. This group is very excited to be able to save this important neighborhood landmark. We heartily congratulate Rick and company for ending the demolition-and-new-development that was underway at this site - - and fiercely fought by the North West District Association and others, including the BMF/AHC.
