Gona go out on the whim & shake up my initial plans to go back to school full-time this year. There are 2 open youth development positions Im applying for where Id get to work hands-on with Black & brown LGBTQ youth in the Bay. Inshallah, if Im offered either one I think I might just be the happiest brown boi in Oakland. A salary paid job doing the work I love, with a community situated so close to my heart is really all I could ask for right now. As for school...well, maybe part-time or a deferment for a year. Going to do some more writing in the meantime about exactly what academia and institutional violence/trauma does to those of us navigating these identities in a space thats historically been reserved for whiteness. This space changes you...and it will strip you of your entire sense of humanity if you let it/dont have the support to fight it. Oh while Im at it, maybe thatll be my thesis topic. Yes. Concurrent execution; Im all about this. *manifesting*
