Gone Girl - Film Review Ever since Ben Affleck was lined up to play Batman in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, the world has gone on a huge Affleck alert! And his most recent performance in Gone Girl, has put him in good stead to play The Dark Knight, hopefully dismissing any lingering doubts that cinema goers may have with ex Dare Devil performer! Ben Affleck plays Nick Dunne, married to Amy (Rosamund Pike) before moving to Missouri, to care for Nicks dying Mother, the pair lived in New York and worked as writers. Now having moved, and with the death of Nicks Mum, Married life is starting to become strained. Loss of work, money issues and regular arguments are putting strains on the relationship. On the morning of the 5th of July, Nick leaves for work, a bar that Amy has bought that he runs with his sister, whilst at the bar he gets a worrying phone call. On returning to the house he discovers signs of a disturbance and no Amy. From this point on Fincher takes us on the most incredible roller coaster of facts and fiction, as you try to unscramble everything that you have seen and possibilities of scenarios that may have been. Affleck delivers a superb performance as the laid back Nick, who is now at the centre of a Police investigation for the murder of his wife. But for me, it is Pike, as the Gone Girl who gives an amazing display of acting. I wont give anything away with regards to her role, please see it to believe it! Backdropped by a stunning score put together by Nine Inch Nails lead man, Trent Reznor, Gone Girl is another bar set incredibly high by the superb Fincher. Not forgetting that Author Gillian Flynn scripted her own work for the screen, Gone Girl is a stunning collaboration of skills! 5 out of 5 Clues Cert 18 149 Minutes youtube/watch?v=blUsfRSSaGo
