Gonna be a good day tater. Rain, snow, cold; all things we decided wasnt gonna stop us when Poppa John showed up Tuesday and decided we were gonna carry on with cooking a hog in the ground for my mom Melissa Patterson and Nate the Greats birthday party. Of course its Halloween ass well and thats always fun. So now its a costume party. Oh and, Free candy!!!!... Anyway, Dug pit Wednesday evening. Hauled wood, banana leaves, rock, and supplies for the roast on Thursday, and got the place cleaned a little. Pulled an all nighter... 4 a.m. Friday: started fire it in the frosty cold and huttled close with a cup of coffee while the scalder heated enough to scald the hog. Killed it, scalded it, cleaned it up, gutted it, (which was frieking awesome), and in the ground it went about 3 p.m.. Finally got about 3 hours of sleep. Then got up to keep watch on the pit over night. Of course Chrisco ,Christopher Varnedoe was working his tale off rite beside me. And really, In our old true family way the whole fam has been doing there part to bring it together and it is always most certainly appreciated this far. Now ,its about time to take it out of the ground and eat the fruits of all our hard labor rite after dialysis. :-) Come shindig with us. Wear a costume. Family, friends, bonfire, guitars and good food. Then top the evening off with some drinks and Tennessee football. Possibly followed by more bonfire and so on and so forth. The possibilities are endless!!!... Its gonna be a good day tater. That is all.
