Gonna break my own no vapid grainy iPhone shirtless selfie in mirror rule for a moment here because I want to toot my own horn. (Warning: wall of text before link to actual picture, both because I talk too much and also I dont think anyone wants to see a shirtless pasty Asian pop up randomly on their news feed.) At the end of last March, I was anywhere in the vicinity of 200-210 lbs at 59. The reason I say in the vicinity was because I literally would not weigh myself because I did not want to see what the scale said. I can only guess at how much I weighed. I had lost ~20 pounds in college and gained it all back plus some change once I started working. I did not want to accept that I was now some obese slob that didnt care about myself or what I was becoming. I remember telling people, Its ok, Im going to work out eventually and get a six pack and people rightfully thinking I was delusional. Then one day, I just decided to not be fat anymore. I wish I could point to something that caused it, but I really have no idea. I literally just woke up one day and said I dont want to be fat. I started out by doing the ketogenic (no carbs) diet as sort of a Hail Mary. I remember looking at it and thinking... Hey, I can eat steak and cheese and bacon and butter on this diet? This is awesome! And it *was* awesome. Funnily enough, I had to go out to a client the day after I started the diet... and the client took us to this place with amazing sandwiches on these delicious looking dutch crunch type rolls. Without the mindset I had placed myself into, I probably would have cracked and said F it, Im starting my diet tomorrow. But instead, I ended up just picking off all the toppings from the sandwich and eating them independently off the bread (with the client looking on somewhat awkwardly). It was then that I knew that maybe I could stick to this thing. For around 6 months I stuck to keto, eating
