Gonna go out on a limb here. And yes I know separation of church - TopicsExpress

Gonna go out on a limb here. And yes I know separation of church and state may come to mind for many, but in the big scheme of things this is my question. I am neither offended by it being there or not in the Pledge. Is the fact that it is not really a matter of national importance? Is it going to help the infrastructure become stronger (in a pliable sense), is it going to help with Heath Care reform, is it going to help the homeless, is it going to stop terrorism, is it going to decide what minimum wage is, or is it even going to help the deficit? My biggest four beefs about this- 1. people are continuing to focus on the petty stuff over the important stuff, 2. These same people in fear of it offending someone need to accept that not all people will ever agree and that the very money they use and pass around, even in the schools say, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 3. Why are you all so blind that you refuse to accept that this is not an important issue. Teach it at home if it is that important, and finally 4. They are removing important lessons and subjects from school, they are teaching other things that basics to build on into secondary education, the are turning blind eyes to bullying, and kids are struggling more and more in schools across this country every day and the issues people seem to bring up more than any other is the Pledge of Allegiance. C,mon man!
