Good Afternoon....... A cool overcast day with any shower activity staying west of our city today but with a chance of an isolated shower tomorrow, hopefully we may feel a drop or 2. At least with the cloud cover it is keeping the overnight temp at a more bearable degree. :) Currently its a pleasant 21.8C and the humidity is sitting nicely at 54%. Below is your forecast for tomorrow............ _____________________________________________________ This is the Official Forecast for Tuesday 15th of July 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. _____________________________________________________ Weather Situation A high over Victoria will move eastwards into the southern Tasman Sea and weaken late on Tuesday and into Wednesday. A weakening upper level trough will move across southwestern Queensland this evening. A more significant upper trough will move into southwestern Queensland late on Tuesday, and it, along with an associated surface trough, will move eastwards across the southern interior in the middle of the week. Forecast for the rest of Monday Isolated showers about much of the east coast. Widespread cloud and areas of patchy light rain developing over western Queensland and extending across the interior during the day. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the northeast coast. Tuesday 15 July Mostly cloudy across the state, with areas of patchy light rain over the southern inland, breaking to showers during the day. Isolated showers over eastern districts. Fine though partly cloudy over the northern interior. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh at times near the northeast coast. Wednesday 16 July A new, stronger upper trough, will shift eastwards across the south of the state, and combined with increasingly moist northerly flow to the east of the surface trough, should lead to an increase in shower activity to rain areas, spreading across the south of the state before clearing off the coast in the evening. In addition, a few thunderstorms are possible over southern parts of the Maranoa and Darling Downs, and the best chances of significant rainfall totals are in this area. Isolated showers about parts of the tropical east coast in a weakening onshore flow. A new ridge of high pressure over central Australia will push dry and cool westerly winds across the state, spreading into the southeast after the rain areas and showers clear. Thursday 17 July A large high over South Australia will extend a ridge eastwards over southern Queensland. This will provide a supply of cool, dry air across most of Queensland, with fine and sunny conditions almost throughout. Just the chance of some light showers about the northeast tropical coast. Areas of early morning frost should return to the southern inland. Friday 18 July The large high over South Australia will remain almost stationary, and with the ridge remaining in place eastwards over southern Queensland. This will continue to supply cool, dry air across most of Queensland, with fine and sunny conditions almost throughout. Just the chance of some light showers about the northeast tropical coast. A trough moving through eastern New South Wales will lead to an increase in gusty southwesterly winds over southeast Queensland. Patchy areas of early morning frost over sheltered parts of the southern inland. _____________________________________________________ Forecast for the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands - Partly cloudy.
