Currently it 24.5C with the humidity sitting nicely around 47%.......Below is your forecast for tomorrow. ____________________________________________________ This is the Official Forecast for Wednesday 07th of May 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. ____________________________________________________ Weather Situation A high in the Southern Ocean extends a ridge of over much of eastern Australia. The high is expected to strengthen while moving slowly eastwards towards Tasmania over the next couple of days. An upper level trough is otherwise expected to move eastwards across the southern interior of Queensland during Thursday. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Fine and mostly clear across the state, except for some isolated showers about Cape York Peninsula. Generally light to moderate southeast to southwest winds, fresh at times along the northeast coast. Wednesday 7 May Fine and mostly sunny across the state, except for some isolated showers about Cape York Peninsula and near the southeast coast. Patchy morning frost about the southeast interior. Generally light to moderate south to southeast winds, fresh at time along the northeast coast. Thursday 8 May An upper level trough should move eastwards across the southern interior of Queensland, while a high situated in the Southern Ocean should drift eastwards across Tasmania. Isolated to scattered shower activity with possible thunderstorms are expected across the southeast corner of the state, though should be most likely near the coast. Fine and mostly sunny across the remainder of the state, except for some isolated showers over the northern tropics in an onshore wind flow. A low moving in a general eastwards direction across the southern Tasman Sea is otherwise expected to generate a moderate, though long period, southerly swell about southern Queensland waters during the day. Friday 9 May The upper level trough should move off the southeast Queensland coast, while the high is expected to drift eastwards into the Tasman Sea. Isolated to scattered showers are expected along much of the east coast and about the northern tropics. A band of cloud should develop across the southwest of the state during the day ahead of an upper level trough moving across South Australia, though little or no rain is expected. Fine and mostly sunny across the remainder of the state. The moderate, though long period, southerly swell generated by the low in the southern Tasman Sea is otherwise expected to persist about southern Queensland waters. Saturday 10 May The high should move slowly eastwards into the central Tasman Sea, while another upper level trough is expected to move eastwards across South Australia and into western New South Wales during the day. Isolated showers are possible along much of the east coast and about adjacent inland areas. A band of cloud should continue to spread eastwards across the southern interior during the day, though little or no rain is expected. Fine and mostly sunny across the remainder of the state. ____________________________________________________ Forecast for the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands - Partly cloudy. Light winds becoming east to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the late afternoon.
