Tropical Storm Glenda is expected to bring heavy to intense rain to Luzon, including to Metro Manila, in the next three days after it entered the Philippine area of responsibility last night. #BoardwalkPHs providing you with: WAYS TO GET READY FOR A STORM 1. Buy sufficient food and water for a few days. Consider canned food and a can opener. 2. Make sure you have sufficient prescription meds if you are on important daily regimen and get an adequate supply of other essentials such as diapers or baby formula. 3. Buy or find several flashlights with batteries, candles and matches. Make sure you have someplace safe for the candles. 4.Make an evacuation plan and leave contact information with key family or friends. 5. Keep track of the storm on the radio, TV or online. 6. Pack before hand your essentials in case you have to leave suddenly. 7. Charge you battery powered essentials (e.g. your mobile phone) 8. Park your car indoors if possible. 9. When indoors, move personal possessions to the center of your home, away from windows and doors. Outdoors, tie down or bring garden furniture, bikes, flower planters, bird feeders, portable BBQs and so on inside. 10. Secure garbage pails if they are outside or bring them inside. 11. Dont leave papers such as insurance policies and credit card statements lying around. Put them in a plastic container so theyre dry and safe. 12. Have old towels ready in case of leaks. Clean out the drains and put everything valuable in plastic boxes in case you already have a leak problem. 13. If you have children, pull out some materials with they can paint or draw. Plan games like charades, tell stories, make music and prepare for them to be a bit scared by the storm. 14. Find some rain boots or old shoes in case the streets are sloshy for a few days. In use a large black garbage bags can make a decent raincoat by cutting a hole for your head and arms. 15. Have some cash at the ready. 16.
