Good Afternoon Everyone!!! I am so excited to share with you all an amazing organization that i have gotten the privileged of getting to know more about over the past few weeks. I was introduced to a new friend Mary Bain Sebastian through a new friend Leceta Chisholm Guibault and both of them do amazing mission work in Guatemala. Mary shared with me these beautiful frames that i loved and i decided i was going to purchase some for resale to use proceeds to support Hogar Luz de Maria and the projects i do for them throughout the year. Come to find out the man, Tino that makes them has an incredible mission himself to support the children in his village through education. Starting this December our mission team will start visiting the children of Ninos con Bendicion instead of having a free day. We will be attending their program with our team and doing what we can to support their mission further. In addition to this amazing mission For the Love of Mateo will also support The Bunk Bed Project where we will be able to purchase bunk beds for families that do not have beds in their home. Instead of the free day i always include in our 5 day trip we will spend the morning of what would have been our free day delivering beds to the families, and then in the afternoon visiting the children at Ninos con Bendicion. Its amazing that when i started my adoption process it was because i had a tug in my gut to complete my family in Guatemala through adoption..which led me to Mateo. Although due to the shut down of adoptions in Guatemala on Jan 1, 2008 and Mateo being stuck over there for 3.5 years, i grew to love Guatemala and its country even more than i already did. I got to see the other kids at the hogar where Mateo grew up and see that the hogar needed help. I grew to love everyone of those kids as my 2nd family i would never be able to bring home to Kansas. What was once just a tug in my gut to give back to the hogar that cared for my beautiful son, has grown into me starting my non for profit which now has an incredible sponsorship program which 100% of all monthly sponsorships go to support the children of Hogar Luz De Maria monthly and me leading trips twice a year to Guatemala to visit the kids. And just recently i felt the tug again to do even more , and that is when over the past few months i have had quite a few God Winks and have been introduced to these amazing women supporting amazing missions themselves that i realize i can also be apart of. While For the Love of Mateos main mission is to support the children of Hogar Luz De Maria monthly, i am looking forward to continuing to make a difference in Guatemala and especially for ALL 3 organizations which For the Love of Mateo has committed to supporting a various degrees throughout the year. #fortheloveofmateo #hogarluzdemaria #thebunkbedproject #ninosconbendicion #guatemalamissions
