Good Afternoon Lords and Ladies, It’s been a crazy week with the USSAs and the FIBA U19. The majority of the balling community is convinced that VUT will take the #USSA2013, for us as long as basketball wins, we are happy! We can’t wait to have ballers back in GP though :) . We were disappointed at African reps at the #FIBAU19 Senegal and Ivory Coast; they’re at the bottom of the log :( *The Sports and Recreation will be launching a sport development program in Mabopane, PTA tomorrow from 9am, if you are in the area. Go rep basketball please. The Minister of Sport and Recreation South Africa, Mr. Fikile Mbalula will host a hand over ceremony for sporting equipment and facilities for the community of Mabopane Block X. The activities for the day will include but not limited to the following: • Sport and Recreation activities (5 a side football, volleyball, chess, Indigenous Games, Aerobics) • Sod Turning ceremony for the installation of a multi–purpose sports court at Mabopane Secondary School • Official Address to the community • Sod turning ceremony for the installation of an outdoor community gymnasium • Handover of sport equipment and attire to 10 schools and community clubs. *Soweto League This week fixture as follows: ARSENAL vs. EBONY (10h00), HURRICANES vs. STEELERS (11h30), EAGLES vs. LIBRAS (13h00) and KINGS vs. PROTEAs and games will be at DUBE basketball courts. *In KZN: Newcastle: U13 and U16 basketball tournament to be hosted at Phelindaba Basketball Court tomorrow.
