Currently its 24.8C and humidity sitting around 76% Below is your forecast for tomorrow......... ___________________________________________________ This is the Official Forecast for Thursday 29th of May 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. ____________________________________________________ Weather Situation A high in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the east coast that will weaken during Thursday. A new high will enter the Tasman Sea on Friday, extending a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast. A trough and an associated south to southeasterly wind change are expected to move north through southern Queensland waters during Thursday. Another trough will most likely enter western Queensland on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Isolated showers about the exposed east coast and islands with possible isolated light showers about the Granite Belt. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Light to moderate west to southwest winds in the southwest and southern interior. Light to moderate east to southeast winds elsewhere, fresh and gusty near the east tropical coast. Thursday 29 May Isolated showers along most of the east coast, chiefly through the northern tropics. Isolated showers are also possible near the southern coast and border ranges. Fine and mostly sunny conditions through the remainder of the state, with maximum temperatures several degrees above the average over the west and southern interior. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh and gusty near the east tropical coast. Friday 30 May The new high should strengthen as it shifts east into the southern Tasman Sea, extending a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast. Isolated to scattered showers are expected about the exposed east coast in the strengthening onshore wind flow, with some isolated shower activity extending into the eastern interior during the day. Fine and mostly sunny conditions will occur through western Queensland and the southern interior, with maximum temperatures remaining several degrees above the average. Saturday 31 May The high will remain slow moving in the Tasman Sea whilst weakening slightly. Moist onshore winds will produce isolated showers over eastern districts, more scattered about the exposed east coast. A new trough will enter western Queensland, producing isolated showers over parts of the southern interior, with possible isolated thunderstorms near the southern interior border. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected in the northwest of the state. Sunday 1 June The trough should continue to move slowly eastwards, entering the far southwest of the Darling Downs district late in the day. Isolated showers are expected near and to the east of the trough, mostly through the southern and southeastern interior, with isolated thunderstorms possible in this area near the New South Wales border. Isolated showers are expected along much of the east coast, scattered about the North Tropical Coast. Much of the west of the state will be fine and mostly sunny in the dry air to the west of the trough. Maximum temperatures should return close to average in the southwest of the state. ___________________________________________________ Forecast for the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands - Partly cloudy.
