Good Day Beautifulz/Handsomez! I received my braiding license from the Texas Barber college in Longview, TX in August 2011. At the time Isis Brantley owner of the Institute of Ancestral Hair Braiding instructed the class. I could have taken the class locally in Dallas instead of driving so far but I knew the knowledge that would come along with taking instruction from Ms. Brantely would be far more beneficial. As I predicted it was. I learned so much more than how to braid hair which was what I needed because Id already been braiding hair. I learned about nutrition and how it effects hair growth, proper hair handling and hair tension, herbs that are beneficial for hair growth and health of hair and body as well. Most of all Im extremely grateful for the fight Ms.Brantley fought against the state of TX that allowed me to become a licensed hair braider without having to waste my time taking a 1600hr course in cosmetology using chemical relaxers and hair dyes which have absolutely nothing to do with what fuels my passion as a natural hair stylist. Instead I was able to take a 36hr course which is substantially less of a time investment. Congratulations to Ms. Brantley for winning her latest fight against the state of TX which will allow her to teach hair braiding classes separately from the TX Barbering mandated regulations that would require braiding instructor licensing course of over 2200 hrs. Who knows...there may be a Kynxx Hair Braiding school in my future as well! Always remember its never too late to live your dream. Wishing you all a peace day
