Good Evening, As expected thunderstorms have developed in Lincolnshire and other parts of the East Mids, NE of Salisbury, South West London and North of Rochester. A convergence zone has formed and is clear to see on the radar. Further cells are developing pretty widely. Locally heavy thunderstorms will continue to develop during this evening and into the overnight period, particularly across the eastern half of the United Kingdom. There is plenty of energy associated with warmer air sat across the east and south east, so these storms will have enough to rumble on after dark. There is even a risk of the odd flash of lightning across central Southern England later this evening as our models have recently picked up on some rather intense showery activity developing here. This is something we will keep an eye on. For North Western parts and Northern England in general a spell of wet weather will be with you this evening. For Scotland, heavy rain will continue. Lewis
