Good Evening Everyone, Just got home from Rileys 1st Annual - TopicsExpress

Good Evening Everyone, Just got home from Rileys 1st Annual Memorial Service/Toy Drive and what a night it was. The crowd was phenomenal - about 250 if I were to guess. I was so nervous on our way to the church not knowing if we would get a good turnout. But, when we pulled onto the parking lot at 6:10 to find at least 20 cars already there I knew it was going to be a great evening. Myself and Bern stayed on the door and got to speak to almost everyone that came in. It was absolutely so overwhelming to see everyone come out and support us once again, we cannot thank you enough; but, we do thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I want to thank Major Lorne, Claudette Hiller and their whole behind the scenes team that helped make tonights service so endearing and so very special. The Salvation Army has been our rock and they will never truly receive all the credit that they deserve, they have been astounding to us in every capacity on Rileys journey, and now our journey. I was so overwhelmed with pride tonight at the generosity of all persons who donated to Rileys Toy Drive. The amount of gifts received was astronomical. The Salvation Army will put out their best Christmas Hampers this year all because of your generosity. I also want to thank my co-workers of the Pathology Department at the Health Sciences, who donated many gifts. I also want to thank them for sponsoring two families this year from our church in Rileys memory. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated. I also want to thank the students of Holy Spirit High School for all the gifts donated, you are truly awesome, and I know Riley was beaming with pride today because of your generosity. A big thank you to Captain Tom Walsh for his speech. Tom tells me that he is not a public speaker, but he was awesome tonight, and just like he writes, it came from his heart. I also want to thank Crystal Gosse on putting together a slide show of all the activities Team Riley has participated in over the last year, and when you see it all on the screen it really was quite a few. Thank you to Sherry Whittle and Carol Ann Oliver who blessed us with their beautiful voices and two of my favorite songs. I also want to thank Sydney Boychuk on her beautiful singing of another of my favorite songs Dancing in the Sky and to Ryan Caines who accompanied her on guitar, it was an absolute stellar performance. A big thank you to Mrs. Lesley Ann Cleary (Rileys grade 9 Engligh Teacher) who paid a beautiful tribute to Riley. It meant so much to us to have you a part of our service. But, most of all I want to thank you for coming out. You can never know how much it motivates us to keep going. Good night and God bless.......
