Good Evening FB Family: March 25, 2014 From the book of [Judges 8-9}. Abimelech had allowed his life to be ruled by the enemy, the devil. Abimelech obviously believed the lies the devil whispered in his ear. Centuries later, Satan tried the same temptations with Jesus, but he had much less satisfactory results! In {Luke 4:5-6} AND THE DEVIL, TAKING HIM UP INTO AN HIGH MOUNTAIN, SHEWED UNTO HIM ALL THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD IN A MOMENT OF TIME. AND THE DEVIL SAID UNTO HIM, ALL THIS POWER WILL I GIVE THEE, AND THE GLORY OF THEM: FOR THAT IS DELIVERED UNTO ME; AND TO WHOMSOWEVER I WILL I GIVE IT. The devil still uses the same tactics with many today. He attempts to draw mankind to follow him instead of the Lord by promising power and wealth to those will do his will. Often he will disguise himself, and his temptations will seem logical and noble. Yet if we look deeper, we will discover that his offerings are rooted in selfishness and greed; therefore, they cannot be of God. In {James 1:13} LET NO MAN SAY WHEN HE IS TEMPTED, I AM TEMPTED OF GOD: FOR GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED WITH EVIL, NEITHER TEMPETH HE ANY MAN. There are many today in bondage from giving themselves over to the desires of the flesh. There are many who want out but cant find their way back to Christ. They are so blinded by the things to which they have bound themselves that they fail to realize the Lord is there. He is waiting to forgive and restore them; all they need to do is ask. They are lost, not because God cannot save them, but because they refuse to see Him. In {2 Cor. 4:4} IN WHOM THE god OF THIS WORLD HATH BLINDED THE MINDS OF THEM WHICH BELIEVE NOT, LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE UNTO THEM.
