Good Evening Folks Id like to return to a place I think is right up there for atmosphere and character, at the heart of the Royal Mile on the High Street...this, is Barries Close. I shot this when it was misty and took another (which you can see via the link below) looking back FROM the inside of the close, to this vantage point. This old close doesnt have a huge history, but is a dogleg, connected to Old Fishmarket Close, which does. It was once home to the City Hangman (the Doomster) and thus we can reasonably assume he perhaps used this wee close as a way to get home? Who knows but either way, I do love this wee close.
