Good Evening GUT!!! Before I begin my spiel I would like to congratulate everyone who played at the Glasgow taxis cup today, they did GUT proud. Im just posting to let everyone know that Im running for kit convener at the AGM on Friday. My names Gregor Stark and Im a second year medic. I joined GUT halfway through first year and was instantly hooked. The friendly atmosphere at the club makes it a really enjoyable place to play sport and socialise with some of the classiest folks in Glasgow town. Thus, I have decided to give something back and run for kit convener! I know from being a captain of a sports team at school the tenacity required to chase down orders so people get their kit on time. A way of tackling this is to get a huge kit order very early on in the year so GUT can look snazzy all year round. I also understand the important link between kit and PR. A brilliant way of attracting new members is to use our current ones as billboards! If elected I would continue to hand out GUT wrist bands at freshers and keep the much loved I love tennis t-shirts. However, I would redesign the t-shirts to make it more obvious that we are GUT. I would also like to look at expanding the kit options available such as GUT branded shock absorbers. To be on the committee would be a huge privilege that cannot be taken on lightly, the committee is there to serve its members. As well as my role in organising kit I would also act as a general member of the committee. This means listening to its members and representing their views, as well as implementing my own ideas. I would be very grateful for your votes on Friday and I wish everyone else the best of luck in the positions theyre running for.
