Good Evening everyone, Heres a great charity event that Lisa Springer is involved in and would love some support from all of us. Awesome job Lisa:) As many of you know I will be participating in the Coast 2Coast 4 Cancer event May 27th –May 29th starting in Stamford, CT and ending in Alexandria, VA. I am very honored and excited about being able to participate in this exciting BMS event and will be riding in honor of my father, Phil, who succumbed to Lung cancer this past July only six weeks after diagnosis at the age of 63. Im also riding in honor of my grandmother, who succumbed to lung cancer and my other grandmother who succumbed to breast cancer. Im riding to honor my aunt Diane, who is a survivor of both breast cancer and lung cancer, which she has been fighting the good fight for many years now. Im riding in honor of my step-sister, Tammie, who we lost to lung cancer just a couple of years ago. She left young children behind that are similar in age to my own. I am riding to honor my aunt Rose Marie, who is fighting Leukemia currently. Lastly, I am riding to honor the endless number of patients Ive personally treated as an oncology nurse- too few of them survivors. For those that survived, for those that lost their battle, as well as their families that suffered the loss of their loved one, I will ride for them. The strength, determination and courage they showed during their individual battles with cancer is what inspires me on a daily basis to train and push myself for this challenge and will carry me through this 3 day ride! I don’t think I need to express to any of you the importance of what supporting this cause means to the many a patients affected with cancer and realize each of you support your own charities throughout the year.
