Good Friday! On this morning thousands of years ago, the Christ - TopicsExpress

Good Friday! On this morning thousands of years ago, the Christ was crucified. and yielded Himself unto death briefly. It’s a very small price to pay to wake each morning with MS, not knowing what the fortunes of the day will be. Good? Bad? Will I ache with pain? Will I be able to walk without a limp? That I dunno; only the day will tell. But those sufferings pale in comparison. The sufferer of a disability knows not what to expect. He or she just does life, grateful to draw breath even. He or she takes their meds and prays for the onset of a productive day. Life compresses into a ball of minimal expectations and a realm of acceptance which is usually far from fulfillment. Time speeds by with few guideposts except for what they make and/or shown. Gone are the days of retiring by choice and fitting into the mainstream with their limited capabilities. Last evening I awoke twice, sitting on the floor by my bedside. How and why I got there has long since escaped any thought. I just accept it; I am conscious to speak of it. Nothing as of yet further. And so the thoughts compress. One does not question why anymore. To think of it reduces one to a mere animal, and that I cannot do: be comfortable merely to draw that breathe I wrote of. I accept the limitations of my body and work within them to bring forth what I can blossom. Maybe those blossoms will one day diminish into nothing, and I will welcome the embrace of death, and then everlasting life. As Jesus did so many years ago today....
