Good Friday morning everyone. Here is todays reading and thought. Have a great day and God bless. Friday, December 12th Today’s Reading: Revelation 16:17-21 17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great. Thought: With little hesitation, the seventh bowl of God’s wrath is poured out and with it the declaration from the throne of God, “it is done!” God’s judgment and wrath are complete, and His enemies have fallen. In a physical sense, with regard to its first-century readers, this vision foresaw the destruction of the Roman Empire, but in a much larger and more profound way, it looks ahead to the ultimate scene of God’s judgment at the end of time. For almost as long as time and the world has existed, there have been those who have striven against God, acting as agents of Satan and determined to defeat God and His people. Though the outcome has already been decided, that struggle will continue on until the day of Christ’s return. Despite all of the warnings from God and evidences of His existence, power, and godhead, many will refuse to acknowledge or give glory to Him. For centuries, God has been patient with mankind, providing every opportunity for repentance and acceptance of His grace. Yet, sadly, the majority of the world has refused Him. But, true to the promises of God, the day is surely coming when that loud voice will be heard from the throne of God proclaiming, “It is done!” The day of reckoning and judgment will be upon us and there will be no escape. For those who faithfully belong to God, it will be a great day of reward, but for those who have rejected and denied Him, it will be a terrible day of falling into the hands of God’s wrath. May we be found ready when that day comes. Those are my thoughts. What are yours? Don’t forget to pray and have a great day!
