Good Middle-of-the-Day, my Lovelies! Its a beautiful day, isnt it? I wore my hand out yesterday, so Ive got D typing away for me this morning. Everyone say hi, D or Daryl, whichever. Ill share my special name for him with you, which is really...okay he wont type that one. Heehee. Ive got tons to do to get ready for playtime tonight. Tons! Ill give more details if anyone wants them later. Im also wanting to go over my excerpt for you with a fine tooth comb---Ill try to keep the drool I leave behind to the minimum. Ha! Anyway, back to my morning greeting, as Brian calls it: Find your reason to smile, whoever it is and whatever it is, hold it tight within your heart, and smile. As you go about this wonderful, and depending where you are, possibly cold day, and find more reasons, because theyre all around you. Even in the filth, the muck, the dark places, there are reasons to smile. Within our grief, our pain, even when it seems to be a never ending cycle of loneliness and feelings of abandonment, you can still find your reason to smile. Like raw diamonds in the rough, buried beneath harsh and jagged stone, if we search, instead of just surrendering completely to the sharp pain, we can find true and exceeding beauty. I speak from experience. Within my painful day this week of overwhelming grief, drowning in memories of times I wish I could forget, I found a beacon of light. My memories of my Gran and the way her face would soften as she told me stories about my Momma. Her smile and her warm laugh as she hugged me too tightly, her wrinkled and soft skin on her hands, as shed stroke gently across my bruised face. The way shed tear up, speaking of her wish to take me away from my father. I grasped on to those memories of being loved so completely, and discovered I could smile, even while my heart was still breaking. When those moments do pass, when we dont feel as raw and beaten, when our hearts are slightly less bruised, we can remember the smile we found within the harshness that this world and people within it dishes out at times. It is a beautiful gift were given, if only well look for it and take it. So, today, find your reasons and catalog them for later times when youll need them. Our childrens smiles and funny things they say, that sweet or funny something that someone tagged you in because they remembered that you liked that sort of thing, or whatever it might be. Just grab them all, horde them within your heart---youll need them one day. Smile today, love each other, give another person a little joy-joy stockpile to help them through a bad day, and embrace the life youve been given. Youre wonderful and perfect in your imperfections, so live your life beautifully today! Love you bunches and bunches! Sloppy smooches and squeezy anaconda hugs for you all!
