Good Monday MORRRRRRNING!!!! Wow what a weekend! Hope yours was as great as mine. Church services were out of this world. Our mailman was wound up tight Sunday morning and it carried over to Sunday Night. Looking forward to the week, our VBS starts Wednesday @ 6:30 so if you have kids bring them on to Freedom Fellowship and let them enjoy learning about God with us. I am showing up expecting mighty things to happen. We also are looking forward to a buying a piece of land to expand our church/ministry this week…EXCITING WEEK ahead, please be a prayer warrior for us this week that God’s plan will come together. Have you said anything hurtful this weekend that you regret today? Remember our words can destroy someone and it sticks with them for the rest of their life. The old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” is one of the biggest lies ever. We don’t realize how things we say impact others. It is not just the put downs that insults people. It is the overheard talk people hear, the cursing and filth that comes out of people’s mouth. I know a lot of that is respect, which is missing from today’s society, but the tongue is the beginning of it. We can use some of the worst words and hurtful, cut to the heart, words when we get upset with someone, especially to someone we supposedly love. Let someone cut you off in the car or a company charge you the wrong price or get your food cold. It doesn’t take long before the tongue starts. Instead of addressing the issue in a calm moderate “Christian” way, we lash out from the mouth and we send Jesus to wait in the car. I won’t lie, it has happened to me. This old flesh takes over and out comes the words we later regret. Your words should be uplifting, inspiring, joyful, loving and caring. Instead what we hear most of the time, whether directed to us or someone else is hatred, filth, mean, rude and disgusting. I have worked as a phone CSR and one thing for sure is your tone and language you use on the phone will dictate how the conversation will go. Try it sometime, change the way you use your words to someone and see the reaction you get from them. As Christians we should only have good coming from our lips. I know we are still humans and we let the flesh take charge sometimes but our goal is to be as close to Christ as we can and the fleshlier we adhere to the further we get away from Christ. “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Think about that verse and let it sink in deep, especially “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth…” Shame on us all! God Bless and God loves you for who you are!!
