Good Morning, A decaying cold front passes over the State this afternoon triggering yet another round of strong afternoon thunderstorms, albeit with less coverage than yesterday. Surface based humidity courtesy of the soggy ground (drought?) and rapid daytime heating are the primary culprits for thunderstorms after 2 PM with the sea breeze (the wind, not the cocktail…) as a coastal accomplice. A few of this afternoon’s thunderstorm cells will flirt with severe with the primary threat 50-60 mph wind gusts and perhaps some tater-tot sized hail, and wait for it, more scattered heavy rain showers.
