Good Morning All, On this day in 1914, after 3 days of being bombarded by German artillery, Russian forces under General Sansonov began their retreat from the battle of Tannenberg. Samsonov committed suicide in the early hours of the day. More than 50,000 Russians were killed in the battle and more than 92,000 were taken prisoner. Mary Shelley, the author Frankenstein was born on this day. In the last 24 hours there have been a number of crimes committed, here is a summary. An attempted burglary occured on Dickenson Road, offenders not known. Offenders approached the property from the rear after cutting through the adjoining garden. They gained access through lifting the fence panel up and climbing through. They then attempted to prise open the rear ground floor door using a sharp instrument. They then climbed onto the utility roof, where they were disturbed and made off. Please be aware of people acting suspiciously in the Dickenson Road area. There was a case of criminal damage on Hatton Street in Longsight. A vehicle was attacked with an unknown implement whereby the bonnet and the roof of the vehicle were visably damaged. Offenders not known. People are to be aware of the area in case we have further reports of damage to vehicles. For anybody that is off over the weekend, have a good weekend :)
