Good Morning, As the Lord has laid this on my heart, I share with you. We need to be careful of easy believing what do I mean by this? The word does tell us we are just to believe in Jesus Christ and what He has done for us as the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are told that we receive Salvation in no other but Jesus Christ and it is by our faith in Him and not of ourselves, for our works no matter how good they may appear will never get us to heaven or to His presence. But many choose to forget one word of great importance REPENTANCE without the combination of repentance and faith there is no real true salvation. Jesus Himself said repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand Matthew 4:17, In Acts 2:38-39 Peter tells the crowd that they needed to repent and be baptized, Acts17:30-31 It is commanded that men (women also) are to repent because an appointed day of judgment is coming. So what exactly does it mean to repent? Here is the best description I can give: As an unsaved person you are heading down the wrong pathway this pathway takes you further and further away from God and if there is not a change in your direction this pathway will take you into hell. So then comes the moment when you truly hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and in the moment of faith believing in Him you make a change in your direction you now repent from following the wrong path, the wrong living, the wrong thinking about the world, yourself, others and God. And now you take a repented path that leads you to God and not away from Him. Repentance is a daily walk, a daily putting self on the altar and putting on the ways of Christ as your life and your lifestyle. You see without repentance you are still unwilling to walk the path that leads you to God. Jesus said that the path is narrow and straight that leads to Him. He is our pathway to the Father, but we must put off self through repentance and put on Jesus. This is a walk of sanctification, we are to live a sanctified life. Be Blessed
