Good Morning Beautiful Ladies Please allow me to introduce myself and to share a bit about my journey. My name is Stacy-Ann Buchanan and Im an Actress, Model and Producer. Since the age of 15, acting has been my sole priority and since 2005 it has been my professional career. I dabbled in and out of modeling as way of thinking outside the box. Modeling was great and I was successful at it, but in my heart I felt I was cheating on Acting. In 2011, I decided to move to Vancouver to fulfilled my dreams of becoming a Movie Star (so to speak). Life took a huge dive and I found myself suffering from anxiety and suicidal depression. You see, I had put a time-stamp on success and when success (ie booking roles) wasnt coming, I mentally spiraled out of control. I wasnt spiritually grown to understand that it isnt on My Time, but on Gods Time. My greatest fear was moving back to Toronto as a Loser and being laughed at for not accomplishing my dream....eventually I had to move back. I needed my family. I needed help. To make a long story short, life then handed me a Mystical platter filled with everything I never knew I possessed: Determination, Leadership, A FEARLESS Attitude and most importantly FAITH. In 2012 I created a show called The Mystic Effect that fuses all the elements of ART together into one production: music, poetry, dance, fashion, film. The core mandate was to showcase the underdogs, the people who are so driven and passionate about their art but isnt given a stage to showcase it because they havent yet made a name for themselves. I was told by some that it wasnt going to work because I needed a name to sell an unknown show. But by remaining positive and keeping faith my show was tremendously successful. The venue was packed solid and I personally had to turn people away at the door. The crazy part about creating TME, is that I did it with the intention of making it a one-time show only, but with its success....its not only an annual show, it gave me the confidence to create my own Production Company, Stacy-Ann Buchanan Productions. Less than a year of launching my company, I received the Entrepreneur Award at this years International Women Achievement Awards. My company hires people seasonally and has interns lined up to work with me. The Mystic Effect has also been the launching pad to few artists and models career. Isnt God Amazing!! They say, you cant have a Testimony without a Test....and believe me, this is my TESTIMONY. My career is spiritually driven and I truly believe you have to surround yourself with like-minded individuals, positivity (in all aspects) and ofcourse good food. Before I go, I would like to share my next project: It is a documentary that will showcase Mental Health Within The Black Community and will chronicle stories from a few people including myself. I chose to create the documentary and make it about the Black Community because it is a Swept Under The Rug stigma that has been creating false illusions and assumptions for a long time.
