Good Morning !!!!!! Being your elected representative, I am trying to clear some points on wage revision. 1. STRIKE KUON NAHI HUA. The conciliation talks between UFBU and Indian Banks Association held in Mumbai moved a step ahead positively after the IBA offered a 9.5 per cent hike on pay slip cost and hold another round of talks on January 27.We have been insisting on a 32 per cent hike in wage revision, pending for the last 14 months. Reacting to our demand earlier last month, IBA came up with an offer of five percent hike which we turned down. Now the IBA in the conciliation meeting on Friday made a move forward with an increased offer of 9.5 percent hike. 2. UFBU BOLE TO UFBU stands for UNITED FORUM OF BANK UNIONS. UFBU is consists of 9 Trade Union Outfits. AIBOC is one of them. 3. What is the role of the representative elected by you ? At circle level, we elect our leaders. 14 Circles and Associates banks constitute All India State Bank Officer Federation. Our federation is affiliated with AIBOC. In last wage revision, The General Secretary of AISBOF was the General Secretary of AIBOC. Being the General Secretary of AIBOC, he was in negotiating team of UFBU. Due to this, we were in a position to protect the interest of our membership. This time, our General Secretary of federation is not in the negotiating team. 4. We lost the leadership of AIBOC. How? To become historical persons, some persons attacked the leadership of AISBOF. Sri Rishab Das, GS, AISBOF was under pressure to take some strong steps to save the dignity of federation. He did not take any steps. Due to pressure, he resigned from the post of GS, AISBOF. Sri Y.Sudarshan was elected as GS, AISBOF. Sri Das was also GS of AIBOC but after his resignation, we did not get our share in AIBOC. 5. Role of the leadership of SBIOA, Patna Circle. At last EC meeting, we suggested that we should quit AIBOC. We should negotiate as an independent entity. Communication in this regard should be done with UFBU. In meeting we received information that Sri Y.Sudarshan will be in the negotiating team. Majority of circles supported the views that we should continue in AIBOC. 6. PAY SLIP COST. This means excluding Super annuation benefits. This term was coined to confuse us. Not good for our membership. The inflation rate is much higher than the compensation paid in the shape of rise in DA, which results that with every passing month, the wages of bankers in real terms go in negative. In nutshell we can say that the salary in hand available for spending is lesser and lesser in real terms or real purchasing power. Lowest financial compensation coupled with worst working condition is the reality. I feel, to get the right, the sole way is fight.
