RELOCATION Truth #5 Overcome From Above (not from beneath) Col. 3:1-3 If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things ABOVE, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things ABOVE, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. From our series on 7 Truths From ABOVE: Truth #5 is that You Overcome From ABOVE Not From Beneath. Jn 3:31 “He that comes from ABOVE is ABOVE all...” David told Goliath, You come at me w/ a sword & spear, but I come at you with the Name of the Lord. Goliath relied on what he had, but David relied on where he was from! He told Goliath, You attack me from beneath but I attack you from ABOVE. When you walk in fellowship with GOD ABOVE, then ABOVE isnt where you’re going to, its where you’re coming from. The attitude of your heart and the thoughts of your mind determine “where you are coming from”. It’s not what you believe in, but where you abide, that really determines where youre coming from. Many people believe in one thing and abide in another. So where you abide is really where you come from. Therefore you cannot just believe in ABOVE. You must abide in ABOVE. You cant defeat your present challenges because youre going to be victorious. You have to beat your challenges by being victorious — because you are victorious. Its all in where you establish your being. Where are you? Who are you? What are you? These are the “things ABOVE” that we are to set our affections upon... Our wedding certificate as the Bride of Christ… Rev. 22:17 And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come. Our privileges as children-citizens of the Kingdom from ABOVE… Gal. 4:26 But the Jerusalem ABOVE (the Messianic kingdom of Christ) is free, and she is our mother. Our access to God’s wisdom from ABOVE… James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from ABOVE, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Our authority as Ambassadors of ABOVE… Matt. 14:16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!” So when you approach your trials from ABOVE youll be an Overcomer. As a representative of Christ, this is true of all challenges that stand before you. When you are in fellowship with ABOVE, and God places you before obstacles, you are authorized to provide the overcoming solution because you are coming as an Ambassador from ABOVE. Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. As a Christian, the greatest reason to stay in conscious contact and communion with ABOVE is so you can bring an overcoming influence for others. Matt. 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give. When you come from ABOVE you can give from ABOVE! Your words & gifts come from where you come from. Matt. 7:16-18 By their fruits you will easily recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thorns or figs from brambles? Just so every good tree produces good fruit, but a poisonous tree produces bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor a poisonous tree good fruit.
