Good Morning Cousins…. It is 72 degree at the Mope Recovery - TopicsExpress

Good Morning Cousins…. It is 72 degree at the Mope Recovery Service. The forecasters tell us we will be in the upper 80s today with a chance of thunderstorms. We have no crashes, road snarls or arrestee shenanigans to report as of this time. Today is Jun 30th, 2014. There are 79 days until we salute the veterans with hooting and hollering at the Brimfest Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade. Email us for registration at parade@brimfieldpolice. On this date in 1936, the 40-hour workweek law was approved for federal employees. Yikes. I’m not sure about the feds, but there is no way on earth I can do what I need to in a 40 hours week. Apparently, they are not Internet sensations and extremely popular with ladies, children and those with higher intelligence. That’s okay…more hugs for us. The word for the day is divagate. The word means, “to wander or to stray.” We use it in a sentence as follows: “Brimfield Police Officers often make friends with dogs who divagate from their humans.” We believe the dogs escape on purpose, to come and visit their working brothers. Today is NOT my birthday. We are getting closer. If today is your birthday, we wish you the best day ever. We hope you get Loretta Lynn’s “Coalminer’s Daughter” on CD and a large Aloe hosue plant. I am not in North Carolina, nor am I in Texas. Good morning to all of our friends in Texas, and a special tip of the hat to the Texas Rangers. We envy your uniforms. Carry on! Happy Birthday to Mike Tyson. The eloquent and vociferous pugilist is 48 years old today. He has had a wild life. In his youth, he was one of the best boxers I have ever seen. The train jumped the track and he became a little…touched. I love hearing him speak at length. He is quite the pontificator. Happy Birthday to David Alan Grier. He is an actor. He was on the classic TV show “In Living Color.” That show was a hoot. Fire Marshal Bill, The Head Detective and lots of other great skits. They also had some dancers on the show... I think they were called the Fly Girls. I don’t know for sure, because they were scantily dressed and I looked away when they were dancing. Sometimes I closed my eyes. Hubba Hubba. Happy Birthday to Hal Lindes, from the band Dire Straits. The song stuck in your head today is Walk of Life. “He got the action, he got the motion…oh yeah, the boy can play. Dedication, devotion, turning all the night time into the day. He do the song about the sweet lovin’ woman. He do the song about the knife. He do the walk, do the walk of life. Yeah, he do the walk of life” Today’s Quote: “Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some dont turn up at all.” ~Sam Ewing Show your character today….Chief Oliver.
