Good Morning DBQ! The North American Trainer Association will return to fill the skies over Dubuque with historical aircraft from July 25 – July 28, 2013. During this period, over 50 WWII AT-6 Texans will operate from the ramp at Dubuque Regional Airport. The AT-6 pilots are gathering in Dubuque for the yearly pre-Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture formation practice and qualification. NATA is celebrating its 27th year in 2013. The AT-6s are celebrating their 75th anniversary. This is the seventh year that NATA has selected Dubuque as their training site. Although the Formation Clinic is private and the airport ramp will be closed to the public, there is an observation area adjacent to the airport entryway for the public. For best viewing times, spectators can visit the area between 8 am and 6 pm to view some of the flights. Observers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and plenty of sunscreen and water! The Dubuque Regional Airport and the Dubuque Convention & Visitors Bureau wish to thank our partners in this event: John Deere Dubuque Works, Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 327, University of Dubuque, Dubuque Jet Center, and our many volunteers. All Veterans are welcome to visit with the pilots.
