Good Morning Everyone... Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend. It has been a good weekend for the store. The sad thing, its the last time we get to see our long distant customers, until next year. There has been some that didnt make the trip, for one reason or another. It is always a pleasure to see those that stop in the store. In 18 years, we have made some TRUE friends and devoted customers. Although the Corps. didnt run the turbines Sunday, many anglers made the best of the situation. Campers from the park side, of Fort Gibson Dam, stopped by the store to stock up on more bait and lures. Worms, large minnows, chicken livers or gizzards, and roostertails were used to catch sandbass or catfish. Had a couple of young fellas from Porter, OK. stop in saying they were catching sandbass, close to the gates, on the west side of the Dam. White roostertails worked great. as they put it. Some guys from Broken Arrow stopped by to get some silver roostertails. They were fishing along the West side of the island, in front of the Dam. They caught smaller sandbass and one bass before having to get back home. Because the turbines were off, many people didnt fish. The Corps are scheduled to run the turbines today. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple visiting from Oklahoma City. He and his wife were fishing in Ranger Creek, having a great Labor Day weekend. Several other customers mentioned their Grangkids were catching catfish, from a dock they own, in Ranger Creek. If you have a fishing story or pictures, Please post.
