Good Morning Facebook! (This is kinda long but worth reading) My timeline this morning is flooded with reports of killings and shootings of teens here in Chicago. I see A LOT of people posting things like wheres the outrage over this or Why arent you guys protesting this. As community leader I AM outraged over the senseless killings in Chicago but the question is .... WHO DO WE MARCH AGAINST? When there is injustice with others its clear who to protest against - the police or the criminal justice system. But in this case ... who exactly are we protesting against? Where would we march to? Whats the issue? The influx of guns? Lack of jobs? Should we demand that all the gang leaders be released from prison so they can deal with this? Many of these shootings are NOT gang related they are simply renegade kids who got their hands on a gun. After the chief gang leaders were arrested and locked up there is VERY little organized gangs in the city anymore! No leadership. We cant march on the gangs. DO we march to their grandmothers house? Whos raising these young killers? SOOO .. before you start posting things that seem to blame and insinuate that no one cares why not offer a REAL SOLUTION. Whos outraged? I AM. What can we do? Im not sure! Im open to your feedback and would use ALL of my influence to work towards a solution! In the words of my friend Corey Brooks lets beat up on the problem and NOT each other! We wrestle NOT against flesh and blood but against principalities ...
