Good Morning Family, Today I want to share with you all this great joy I experienced. As I was coming into my final destination, I observed my Dear, Sweet, Loyal, Sassy, Phenomenal Sister in the Union, Sister in marriage, Sister in Friendship, Sister sent from Christ! Carolyn King!! My relationship with her is quite honestly like NO OTHER. We are forever bonded in integrity, like minded ness, tolerance, loyalty & comic genius!! (Tee-Hee). Our careers begin approx 18 years ago, when my RR (Santa Fe) merged with hers (Burlington Northern) we were 25 yrs old, finer than frog hairs, split 8 different ways, ambitious, a little crazy, & above ALL determined to make it in an industry heavily dominated by older, mostly white males. Our very first year as Conductors we were forced to relocate to Galesburg., A very charming town with a grand total population of 40,000!! Smh..Our off time there was spent perusing the aisles of Wal-Mart, for something, anything! To mildly entertain us for even a moment!! We were homesick, missing our mates & families, over-worked & out done!! Often working weeks at a time, without ONE day off!! Back then, we had to be prepared to work again 6 hours after having just been released from work! We were also QUALIFIED & did work 5 very different & distinctively challenging Districts!! We were often gone away many days at a time just working! Smh..Those winters in Wisconsin & Iowa were flucking brutal! But we did it! That winter was the main reason, I leaped into Engineer School after just one year in! Carolyn the more patient, conservative of us decided to wait. (Smart move)..It was worth it, but such a reality check for me in this industry! Shortly after I became certified, I took another leap of faith & transitioned to NIRC., another Good Move..Carolyn at that time was in Engineer School, but eventually quit, to join me at a current workplace., Wasnt long before she went to Engineer School here..So now, here we are, 18 yrs later, having made it thru our careers, with newborn babies, marriages, divorce, disagreements, shoulders to cry on, secrets we shared & the other bullshat women experience working with a 95% male population! LOL! Stupid Dummies! (Tee-Hee)..Our journeys are not yet over, but I believe we have indeed crest the hillas evidenced by my sister making what we call a Power Move, exercising her so hard won right to seniority! Her move is significant, simply because, like myself Carolyn seldomly makes moves preferring instead to wait patiently on our turn rather then get caught up in the rat race, our counterparts, engage. So it was with great admiration, that I watched my beloved sister, smh..walk so humbly, yet with confidence, integrity, & masterful skill to those huge, shiny, new Locomotives & assume her position behind the throttle! Looking beautiful as EVER, rocking her very polished, short hair cut, tight jeans, designer handbag & a smile that can warm the heart of the coldest ninjas! You see, Carolyn & I have been blessed to work ALL these years without ONE De-Certification! Thats right! NEVER De-Certified! To GOD be this GLORY! It is really not our own doing, but GODs!! So, I proudly SALUTE my SISTER, for doing like its never been done before!! Were making history sis!! And when its ALL over, we are gonna first, Give honor to GOD, then ROLL us a BIG FAT one & smoke that shat like a Train baby! Damn it feels Good to see my sister making Big $$ MOVES!! #OnlyTheStrongSurvive.
