Good Morning Friends! Colossians 1:11-12 “Strengthened with all - TopicsExpress

Good Morning Friends! Colossians 1:11-12 “Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father…” God is able to strengthen us with all might. Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers, “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. (Eph. 3:16). Paul wants the Ephesian Christians so charged with the understanding of the love of Christ that it can be said that they are filled with all the fullness of God. Paul was praying for this (vs 14). That He would grant you…” means that God must allow this to happen. So, I believe it is safe to conclude that this is something that must begin with prayer. All the might of our glorified Lord awaits His needy, believing people who will ask Him. The strength referred to here is that they might be “patient and long-suffering with joyfulness” It takes strong faith to be patient and joyful in the midst of prolonged suffering. Many of God’s saints in the past have “out of weakness been made strong” that they might be blessed “according to His glorious power,” or rather, according to His power in glory. Let us remember that we have the same Lord that all these great saints had/have that is rich unto all that call upon Him. Finally, the words giving thanks is a present active participle. It means to be grateful for something or to be thankful and show it. It comes as a result of the realization of the provision that the Father has made for the believer in Christ. The name Father identifies the originator of the plan. The truth that God is our Father should make us thankful and overflow in praise. One of the outstanding features of personal revival is the overflow of joy in the Christians life.
