Good Morning Friends! Psalms 34:5 “They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.” The word lightened translates nahar and means to sparkle, to be cheerful, to flow. We use the expression to overflow. I think the word sparkle is a good word for what David is saying. I have seen this happen in Christians lives, where they just sparkled. Praise God! The NKJV translates the first part of this verse: “They looked to Him and were radiant…” Radiance is not the result of cultivated charm, educational excellence, a body make over, or the excitement of riches. Radiance is the edifying reflection of God’s glory poured out upon our lives as a result of our intimate moments spent with Him! The more time which we spend praising God, the more brilliantly His radiance saturates our lives and extends beyond us. Our boasting of God’s mercy, grace, and salvation give others a reason to consider all that God is. Every word that comes out of our mouths ought to somehow glorify our Lord! Every choice and action that we make within our lives should vibrantly authenticate God’s holy presence within us! When that is not the case, then we need to be silent and inactive, because we have nothing to offer God or others. It is God that initiates and offers all that truly matters to us! The only acceptable response on our part is to accept our Lord’s grace and to be obedient and submissive within our living relationship (fellowship) shared within His holy intimacy! Oh, that we may be radiant for our Lord!
