Good Morning Friends, The sun is shining and it is going to be a great day. Mary is slowly but surely recovering from the surgery that removed the port from her chest. She has been quite anxious this week with lots of questions and what ifs???? I am sure this is all normal stuff for a child that has spent the past 2.5 years battling a disease that robs, steals, destroys and kills thousands of children each year. Yesterday we spent a lot of time talking and praying about where we are TODAY!! When we talk about different days throughout this battle we both can so instantly take ourselves right back to that day...that hour...the memories are so distinct and they hurt...they take your breath away...they bring tears to our eyes!!!.... But friends there is also a place that we can take ourselves to and it is a place of peace, where we can catch our breath, we can look ahead and.... we only find it at the feet of Jesus . It is like a juggling act when we are juggling 3 balls and really concentrating we can juggle forever but the moment we take our eyes off of one of those balls...one slips and then we are out of sink and the juggling act falls flat. Well isnt that the truth with keeping our eyes on the Lord!! He doesn’t promise us life without cancer or sadness or pain but he promises to walk through it all at our side and I can speak from experience when you are walking in sink with HIM...keeping your eyes on HIM...talking with HIM....worshiping HIM.....those very difficult times that you are staggering and feel like you can not carry the load one more step...HE is there to grab ahold and carry that load, to catch those tears, to calm that rapid beating heart, and to some how send a sense of PEACE!!! Last night as Mark and I were in bed we could hear Mary Helen downstairs singing into her microphone...and these were the words she was singing...... “Oh Lord Youve searched me You know my way Even when I fail you I know You love me Your holy presence Surrounded me In every season I know You love me I know You love me At the cross I bow my knees Where Your blood was shed for me Theres no greater love than this You have overcome the grave Glory fills the highest place What can separate me now” It is so true...Let us all go to the cross and bow our knees....it is a place of healing, of restoration, of peace, and of love! Look at this picture of Mary...look how far HE HAS CARRIED HER!!! Lord, thank you for sending your son to die on a cross so that we may live!!!!
