Good Morning Good Morning. It’s a new day! Great women and men who fulfill their dreams and destinies are never crowd pleasers; they are people who choose purpose over popularity. They are not afraid to stand alone, and are not discouraged when laughed at. They turn their back on the crowd and face their lifes callings with utter determination and pursue it. Max Lucado says, “A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd!” For many of us however, blending in is more convenient than standing out. It is often more attractive and praiseful to do what others expect us to than what were created for. In most cases, doing what you are created for means swimming against the tide; it could boil down to moving in opposite direction with the crowd. Yet we shouldnt let the fear of striking out suppress the courage to become who we were created to be. It is better to be an original but ‘imperfect’ you than to be a perfect copy of another person. In your daily romance with life, you will always come to the crossroads of decision, where you would have to resolve the conflicts between the expectations of others on you and the demand of your lifes proposed destiny. Sometimes the urge to please the ‘crowd’ drives us into disobeying and displeasing our conscience. However, unless you learn to differentiate between doing things right and doing the right things, you may fall for the lie that says, “Majority cannot be wrong.” Moreover, you must learn to isolate friendships that interfere in negative ways with your lifes call, distracting you from pursuing it. It doesnt matter the emotional attachment you have for any friendship or relationship, if it does not increase you, it decreases you. Unfortunately, many people are still hanging on to such friendships, which can at best be described as living corpses. Any emotion and time spent on such relationship tantamount to placing flowers on a grave; it does nothing to improve the condition of the occupant of the grave. Let the dead bury themselves and let the living live! Some things are not that easy to deal with though, but you must pray for wisdom and for the courage to apply wisdom irrespective of who would be displeased. Don’t just aim to be popular today, determine to be purposeful! It’s a good morning; have a great day!
