Good Morning~~~Have a Wonderful Day~~~Be Prepared Temptation, and Defense; Remember its not a sin to be tempted it’s a sin to fall into that temptation. If your tempted to steal that five dollar bill your co-worker left on the table, and you walk away and the money is still on the table you have not sinned. If you slip that five into your pocket and act like no big deal NOW you have sinned. If your tempted to listen to the newest gossip at work but get up and leave the room you have not sinned, however if you sit down pour a cup of coffee and enjoy the latest news flash on someone’s life, NOW you have sinned. If the new secretary at work is very pretty and dresses immodestly your tempted to find reasons to be at her desk, or look longer or places you need not look, but you go out of your way to avoid being alone with her, not looking at her other than when needed and at her eyes not any other parts, you have not sinned, if you find time to be alone with her, find reasons to look at her, NOW you have sinned. Keep in mind Jesus faced temptation , and never fell into it. Jesus gave an example of being tempted but walking away. Temptation is a tool of Satan and he tried it on Jesus after Jesus was in the desert for forty days without food, Satan said to Jesus: Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Satan misquoted the word, Jesus corrected him and did not fall. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Satan is our adversary; he desires to disable our service, to distract us from the Lord, since he cannot take away our salvation he can make life here useless for the Lord. The adversary gets glory when we fall into temptation and will go to the Lord and tell the Lord what we are doing. He is the winner of tattling, of accusing the brethren. Temptation can storm our minds and hearts with sudden fury, catch us at our weakest moments. As we see in Matthew 4 Satan took the time of Jesus in the desert no food for 40days to set his attack, to set a snare. Our best defense to do purposely brace yourself daily for Satan’s attacks. We must each morning put on the full armor of God, to hide his word in our hearts, to be in prayer daily. Also when there is a temptation to get out of its way quickly don’t dwell there. The fruits of obedience are long lasting and rewarding. Prepare now for Satan’s attacks be ready spiritually don’t take his power, his “ways of convincing its all good don’t worry” lightly. He wants you to fail you’re his enemy if you’re a saved child of the King. If you’re a useable vessel for the Lord he even hates you more, and what better to please our adversary then to be able to take you out of service. We are here to please and glorify the Lord, how are you preparing for the battle??? Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Matthew 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, Matthew 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Matthew4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Matthew 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Matthew 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Psalm 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalm 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. Psalm 119:13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Love Cheryl Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin; Each victory will help you some other to win; Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue, Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through. Ask the Savior to help you, Comfort, strengthen and keep you; He is willing to aid you, He will carry you through. Shun evil companions, bad language disdain, God’s Name hold in reverence, nor take it in vain; Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true, Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through. To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown; Through faith we shall conquer, though often cast down; He Who is our Savior our strength will renew; Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through.
