News Brief for Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 National American Indian Heritage Month Nov. 24: Join us at the Warrior Cafe 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. as we pay tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans. Let’s Speak English Nov. 24: Our English as a Second Language education program is for all community members who are not proficient in the English Language. It is designed to assist Soldiers, Civilians, and Family Members who are not fluent and will provide a basic understanding of the English language and provide fundamental communication skills. This workshop will meet from 9:00 -10:00 a. m. every Monday at ACS, Bldg 10. For more information, contact Rick Iglesias, Relocation Program Manager, at DSN 466-4860/3403 or CIV 09472-83-4860/3403 Hohenfels Retail Store Wine Seminar Nov. 24: The Hohenfels Retail Store will host a FREE Wine seminar from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the store. Sean Webber of E&J Gallo Winery will explain about wine and how to pair it with food for the holidays. The Elf on the Shelf, Bingo Edition Nov. 24 – Dec. 19: Meet Libby, our Library Elf on the Shelf! She will be having lots of fun every day. Pick up your BINGO board, and start playing hide and seek with her. All you have to do is mark your board everyday when you find her. When you have a BINGO, you can get a small prize! What will Libby be up to next?!? Just remember: No Touching the Elf! Fun for ages 3 - 10. SKIESUnlimited Tiny Tumblers Classes Mondays: This class is a playful and engaging introduction to the basic dancing for toddlers. The main purpose of this class is to increase flexibility, sense of rhythm and balance all the while incorporating a better understanding of body balance and coordination. Classes are $35 per month and are for ages 3-5. Register at Parent Central Services in Bldg. 10. Class runs 10:30-11:15 a.m. in the Arena, Bldg. 47. The Postal Service Extended Operating Hours Postal Finance – APO (Sending Mail) Nov. 24 – Dec. 19: Mon. – Fri. 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Parcel Pick Up – CMR (receiving parcels) Nov. 24 – Dec. 26: Mon. – Fri. 10 – 5 p.m. Sat. (Dec. 13 & 20) 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Dec. 24 & 31: 10 – 4 p.m. NOTE: No Postal Finance Service Available for sending out packages. CLOSURES DUE TO HOLIDAYS: Nov. 27, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. Poinsettias for the Holidays The Junior Class is selling Poinsettias for the holidays! Get your order in now! The cost is just $10 dollars. These lovely flowers will be delivered on December 1st! Commissary Thanksgiving Opening Hours The Commissary will be open the Monday before Thanksgiving, 24 Nov. 24,from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.and will be closed the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 28. We will reopen Saturday, Nov. 29, regular hours.
