Good Morning Hohenfels! News Brief for Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014. BEWARE OF ZOMBIES!! “Run for your Life” Zombie Fun Run Sept. 25: All ages welcome! Be prepared when disaster strikes.“If you are prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse, you are prepared for anything.” Come dressed as a Zombie and receive a free T-Shirt. Expect Zombies along the route. Starts at 9 a.m. from the CAC. Hohenfels Soldier EXPO.14 Sept. 25: Have you ever wondered what there is to do around post? Stop by the Hohenfels Soldier EXPO.14 at the CAC and find out! You will be surprised whats available to do and to see in USAG Bavaria-Hohenfels and the surrounding German communities. Opens at 10 a.m. Car Seat Safety Check Sept. 25: Bring your car to the CAC parking lot between 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. for a professional check of your Child’s safety seat. Safe Kids Play Free at the Kids Play Zone (1 free pass per seat checked). Each Seat checked will also receive a ticket for a free car seat drawing at the Hohenfels Soldier EXPO.14. (Events sponsored by ADAC and Mercedes-Benz MAS (Military Auto Source) No Federal, DOD, Army or Federal endorsement implied.) ACS will close for training every other Thursday Sept. 25: Army Community Service (ACS) will be closed every other Thursday morning 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. for staff training and other administrative requirements. Please make a note of this change in service hours. The following training date is Oct. 11, 2014. Newborn Network Sept. 25: Looking to share your story or get support from other new moms? Topics discussed may include: Feeding, Baby Wearing, Cloth Diapers, Sleeping (Like a Baby!), Soothing a Crying Baby, Infant Development, Enhancing Early Learning, Creating Family Traditions, Self Care for New Parents, and SO MUCH MORE. All moms, babies and mommies-to-be are welcome. Join the fun anytime during the 9 – 11 a.m. time at the ACS Family Center, Building 321 right across the street from the Thrift Shop. Great Expectations –expecting parents program Sept. 25: A convenient weekly lunch time program for those who are expecting a new arrival that answers questions books don’t. Geared for parents-to-be, this workshop covers topics such as birth certificate process in Germany, breast feeding, expectations, bringing baby home and much more. This week’s topics include feeding your baby. This rotating 6-week series runs every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at ACS, Bldg 10. Hohenfels Movie Theater Sept. 25: No Good Deed (PG-13) 7 p.m. Children Story Time Thursdays: Bring your little one to the library at 10 a.m. and listen to stories read aloud by our wonderful library staff. What better way to spend your day, than to be in the imagination of a child and a good book. Group Mountain Bike Ride Thursdays: “Get on your bikes and ride!” Every Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. we saddle up and mountain bike different trails in the surrounding area. These rides are designed to accommodate all ranges of ability, but they can be physically demanding. Don’t have a mountain bike or worried your bike isn’t up for the challenge? No worries! You can rent one of ours for half price for the evening ride. Prices: FREE, bike rentals are half of the regular price.
