Good Morning, I hope that everyone had a great hunting season - TopicsExpress

Good Morning, I hope that everyone had a great hunting season and a wonderful holiday season with many special memories being made. Looking out the window it seems funny not to see a foot of snow but I am sure that winter is ready to make its appearance again soon. It now time to look forward to the 2015 Hunt Test Season and set our schedules. With the 2016 National Invitational coming back to the Central Region, I would ask you to consider holding as many tests as you can so we can offer the opportunity to participant to as many qualifying dogs possible. I need your test dates by January 10, 2015. The locations don’t need to be nailed down, but the dates do. If you do add or cancel a test after the test dates have been published, you do need to contact your RD first. Also your NAHRA club fees are due Jan 1, 2015. The schedule I have so far is as follows: FPRC- URP Test January 17- Willson Farm, Clear Lake, WI FPRC- May 15-17- Willson Farm, Clear Lake, WI FPRC- July 24-26- TBA FPRC- SR Only in Sept? Skunk River will host Regional. Upland Retriever Program-FPRC will host a URP (Upland Retriever Program) test January 17 at Larry Willson’s place. In September FPRC held the very first one at Larry’s along with a judges clinic for the URP program. It was a big hit with the people who ran it. I would urge clubs to try one out this winter or early spring. It is a good way to keep your dogs in shape, don’t need a lot of equipment, not a lot of man power required and no water needed. I would strongly urge you to have a judge that has attended a judge’s clinic for the URP to judge your first test as there is more to it than meets the eye. ` RD Elections Results-Congratulations to Adam Ackermann as the Central Region’s next Regional Director. Adam will take office in March. Until then please contact me with schedules and concerns. Adam will do a great job with his duties. Please do everything that you can to make things flow smoothly and welcome Adam as RD. Pheasant Fest- NAHRA will have a booth at Pheasant Fest being held in Des Moines Feb 20, 21,22. Thanks to the people who have signed up to work. If you know of anyone wanting to work please let me know asap as I am sending out an email today to schedule people. I know that help is needed Thursday for set up. This is a great opportunity to recruit new members to your clubs and NAHRA. 2015 Invitational-The Leatherstocking Hunting Retriever Association and the 2015 Invitational Committee would like to invite you to join them August 5-8, 2015 in beautiful Baldwinsville New York at the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area for NAHRAs premier annual event. The Judges for the event will be Kody Bull- Alaska, Debbie Brennan- East Region, and John Gilbert-West Region. 2016 Invitational- An Invitational committee has been formed and is putting together a proposal to submit to the NAHRA Board for approval. Several locations are being considered. Calendars are available for $12 each (1 to 9 copies) or $10 each for orders of 10 or more copies. Clubs are encouraged to purchase multiple copies of the Calendar to distribute to club supporters, landowners, and especially for potential new NAHRA Members. A space has been reserved on the back cover to allow clubs to add a sticker that details specific club contact or event information. E-Entry- Is up and running. You will be able to use it for the test season. Make sure that before the start of the season you have your club information entered. Feedback is welcome. So far FPRC has used it with good results. It will make it very fast and efficient to use not only for the handlers but also for the test secretary. Central Region Website- Updating website. I could use some new pictures and or information that you would like to see on it. The address is nahracentralregion.org. On a sad note Darin McFarland’s wife Sarah passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve. Please reach out to Darin and his family during this very sad time. Please keep this family in your prayers and thoughts. I think this covers most of the Regional Business for now. If you can think of anything else, shoot me an email. Happy New Year, Patsy
