Good Morning Lord Devo Today I will bow before your sovereignty and thank you for making me who I am. When you find yourself with a few quiet moments, do you ever wish that you were someone else? I imagine that, at some point, every single woman on the planet has reviewed the portfolio of her life and wished for something different. Does someone else’s marriage seem happier, her kids better behaved, and her relationship with God blessed by continuously answered prayer? Or perhaps you are confined to a wheelchair, slowed down by a degenerative disease, or caring for a special-needs child. Are such physical challenges divine mistakes? Are your particular circumstances some cosmic accident? First of all, I know that in God’s original plan, life was never meant to be this way. The brokenness we suffer from was not God’s choice but, through Eve, it is ours. Now the whole planet limps along, yet I believe in the midst of the world’s weeping you are you for a reason. You are not an accident; you are a woman with an eternal destiny. It takes some of us a long time to understand that. Often that understanding comes only as we choose to let go of what we think should have been and instead bow our hearts to the sovereignty of God. Will you do that?
