Good Morning, Meet Mary, an inspirational writer. Psalm 143:10 - TopicsExpress

Good Morning, Meet Mary, an inspirational writer. Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. In this psalm David not only wanted to know the will of God (vs., but he also wanted a heart trained to obey that will. Who better than God knows what is best for us, after all, He created us and has every right to expect us to obey Him (Romans 12:1). It is a matter of the created obeying the Creator. Then David appeals to God for a level path in life. Well I can certainly understand that request, he had lived in a state of unrest for many years being exposed to extreme forms of danger and constant fear for his life. While most of us will never be in David’s particular situation, we can all identify with him in wanting a smooth terrain in life. No one enjoys being out of their comfort zone. But nonetheless life is full of ups and downs, in fact, the road can get pretty bumpy at times! The key to maintaining our peace through the “downs” is to stay grounded in Scripture, keep in prayer to God, and faithfully obey Him even when it appears to us that He is not hearing our pleas. It is easy to trust and obey when things are smooth in life, it is when we hit those “bumps” in the road, or it even seems that we are about to fall off the proverbial cliff, that we must keep the faith and persevere for Him. His timing is not ours, but His is always right, and in due time He will resolve our problems according to His perfect will for us. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit to lead and guide us down even the toughest landscapes in life. Romans 8:28-39 tells us that we are more than conquerors through Christ, and that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. His Spirit gives us great comfort in harrowing times and gives us the strength and peace to come through the trials praising God and giving Him the victory over satan in our present circumstances. Thank You Father God for all Your perfect care and keeping of me, I am so very thankful that You will never leave me or forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). Help me to cast my cares on You and trust that You will lead me through difficult times with peace, comfort, and even joy! I love You so and give You praise this day! Amen
