Good Morning Namibian Doctors, please take note that Being shown care and kindness is as important to patients as receiving the latest medicines or cutting-edge surgical techniques. Discrimination at Okongo State Hospital against HIV+ patients by a senior doctor (NAME KNOWN) has reached a point where I cannot keep quite anymore. There is more than enough evidence that rights of many HIV+ people in Okongo are being violated and they are being mistreated by the very person who supposed to be taking care of them. I feel saddened by the truth of this as patients at Okongo state hospital and probably other state hospitals dont receive the care that they should. Some DOCTORS dont think that their patients are somebodys parent, grandparent or family member and dont necessarily treat them how theyd like their family to be treated if they were to be infected by HIV. I am therefore asking the regional Director, PS or the Hon. Minister to please intervenes as soon as possible becouse Eight (8) phone calls complaining about one person is just too much too ignore.
