Good Morning New York! I am here again, I arrived last night. Just came out of the mosque after Fajr prayer (early morning prayer). It is still dark outside and freezing cold, I cant feel my face at the moment but feeling fully awake and fresh! My body clock is following the UK time still, I woke up at 4am and have been awake since then. I decided to take a long walk in the early hours of the morning watching New Yorkers wake up and rush to work. I am strangely is awe of this mega city, on one hand there are signs of impressive material progress but on the other hand ordinary people are struggling to meet their cost of living. Some have two or three jobs just to be able to afford rent and food. The city has a conflicting spirit, its a brilliant place for the rich and affluent but a miserable place for the poor. May be this the stepping stone city, you arrive here, work hard, save a bit and then move to another state where life is more humane! I am still here but only for 4 days! I will be leading Friday prayers at one of the mosques later on today, insha Allah (God willing).
