Good Morning Peeps!! The cold front that brought some wintry precipitation to the region is making its way to the southeast and is currently located well to our south across Alabama, Georgia. Snowfall amounts with this system varied from only a trace in some places to 2.00 in the coal fields of Eastern Kentucky. Official snowfall totals across Kentucky have not come in yet but when that data comes in I’ll try to post it for you, Arctic air will overspread the area today. Sunshine will be common from about mid-morning into the afternoon before some clouds develop across the Blue Grass. We will cool off quickly tonight as the surface high is directly over the forecast area. Temperatures should range from the middle teens to low 20s, but cooler locations such as valleys could reach the lower teens. Looking into next week... The start of next week looks interesting... as forecast models actually show parts of Kentucky getting back into the upper 60s to maybe near 70 degrees come Monday (18th) Winds from the south will tap into some Gulf air and temperatures will increase by the first part of the workweek. Dew Point readings will also be on the increase and to add insult to injury, another BLAST of cold air will move back into the state with a cold front passage Tuesday night. Temperatures after Tuesday will fall back into the 20s for overnight lows. Another thing we have to watch will be the risk for some strong to severe storms next week as this cold front pushes into the state. So with that said.
