Its Monday the 19th of January 2015. *************************************************************************** Weather Forecast *************************************************************************** There is a surface trough extends from the northwest of the state to the central coast, with a humid and unstable airmass to its north. This trough and the associated storm focus should shift further north during the next couple of days. Another trough will shift west over the southeastern interior of the state on Monday as a ridge builds along the southern Queensland coast, dragging an unstable airmass further inland. A new, more significant trough should then enter southwestern Queensland on Tuesday and deepen further as it shifts slowly east over the interior of the state mid week. There is a high chance of showers and storms north of about Cairns to Burketown and also over the southeast of the state near and east of the Great Dividing Range. A slight to medium chance of showers and storms through central districts and remaining parts of the tropics and Darling Downs. Fine and sunny in the west. A warm day over much of the state with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending north to northeasterly near the east coast. ----------------------------------------------- Australian Synoptic Chart Summary ----------------------------------------------- There is a broad area of low pressure over northern WA, NT and QLD will continue to generate showers and storms.
